The stunning Vipingo Ridge Beach Hotel in Kilifi County, Kenya, came alive as golfers and tourism leaders gathered for the Uganda–Kenya Coast Golf Tournament, a prelude to the upcoming 4th Uganda–Kenya Coast Tourism Conference & Exhibition (Oct 24–28, 2025, Malindi).

Hosted by H.E. Flora Mbetsa Chibule, Deputy Governor of Kilifi County, the event celebrated friendship, regional unity, and tourism diplomacy between Uganda and Kenya.
Team Uganda emerged victorious with 870 points over Team Kilifi’s 850, in a contest that featured 100 golfers — 55 Ugandans and 45 from Kenya’s coast.
Uganda’s Consul General in Mombasa, H.E. Paul Mukumbya, praised the tournament as a symbol of East Africa’s growing collaboration. “Golf has become more than sport — it’s a platform for diplomacy and partnership,” he said.
As Kilifi prepares to welcome delegates for the regional conference, the event showcased how shared experiences in sport and tourism can build stronger ties across borders.
